
World Languages
The World Languages Program in Salem includes Spanish and French. The program begins in the elementary grades. All children have the opportunity to study at least one language, other than English. There are six domains which frame world languages content. These domains include communications, cultures, connections, comparisons among languages, comparisons among cultures, and communities. Students expand their knowledge of other areas of study through the study of world languages. Students use new information and perspectives gained through world languages study to expand their personal knowledge and interdisciplinary connections. The major components of the program are as follows:

Students will use their knowledge of language and culture to enrich their life and broaden their opportunities.
