Elementary Math Club (Grades 3 and 4)
The elementary math club will meet on Friday mornings 8:00-8:35 a.m. in the elementary art room (room 147) at Salem School starting on December 16th. The math club is open to 3rd and 4th grade students that want to improve their math reasoning in order to solve math problems. The purpose of the math club is to develop enthusiasm for mathematics and to challenge students to solve multistep math problems with accuracy, efficiency, and flexibility. We will solve problems and compete in the monthly math contest called Continental Math League. Registration for the math club is limited to the first 20 students. A parent or guardian will need to provide transportation and sign-in his/her child at the greeter’s desk. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Burns at tburns@salem.cen.ct.gov or 860-859-0267 extension 146.
